My approach to family sessions is simple, capture your family as you are! I want to create an experience that is uniquely yours. Multiple outfits and locations are encouraged to provide a variety of different looks. I prefer to shoot outdoors using natural light rather than in an artificially lit studio environment. Natural light illuminates skin tones with a soft radiance and makes you look stunning. Please don't put too much pressure on your children. The goal is to have fun, and capture some memorable portraits in the process. It usually takes little ones a while to warm up, give it time, and let the session progress naturally. I will chase them around, and goof off with them until they are ready to sit still for some more formal portraits. In the mean time, enjoy your session, and trust that I want to capture your family in their true form.
Seniors-I want to capture you just as you are, right now, so you can look back on yourself in later years and remember who you were right before one of the biggest transitions of your life. You're gorgeous, you're courageous, and eager to fly the nest. It's the perfect time to dress up and immortalize the moment on camera. Please plan on multiple outfits, and think about some locations that are special to you. Props are always fun, and can showcase your personality!
Newborn sessions should be planned before the baby is born. Newborn sessions generally work best when they take place between 5-14 days old. (Babies are more flexible, sleepier, less wiggly, and it is usually too soon for skin flare-ups) Please feed baby beforehand, but if little one needs to eat during your session we can take as many breaks as necessary. I allow plenty of time for you newborn session, so there is no need to rush, and we will allow baby to dictate the session.
